For Sale!

We finally have some wonderful items up for sale on our Etsy page! I love the positive feedback we have already received from our page and I hope to see this hobby grow even more!

Set of 2 rope/twine wrapped up cycled vases

These unique twine wrapped vases look amazing in any room. I love to put bright and colorful flowers in them! They are currently listed as a set of 2 for $17.99 plus shipping.

Set of 3 upcycled glass jar wrapped in rope/twine

Here we have more twine wrapped, upcycled vases. This set of 3 is listed for $27.99 plus shipping.

Vintage Log Cabin Syrup glass bottle

This is definitely one of my favorite items I have ever come across. You don't see a 38 year old maple syrup bottle very often! This special edition bottle has had a lot of attention but still needs a permanent home. You can buy it for only $7.99 plus shipping.

Vintage metal gold brass 8X10 picture frames

I am ALWAYS a sucker for old, vintage frames. I love the detail in the metals and how unique each frame is. This wonderful set of 8 is listed for $45.99 plus shipping.

Set of 11 Milk Glass Vases in various sizes

Milk glass is also very unique. With the glass being white instead of clear, you can really see the details of each piece much more clearly. I love collecting milk glass and using them with fake flowers to add a little color to the room. This set of 11 is listed for $49.99 plus shipping.

Vintage metal Tea Pot with wooden handle

Who wouldn't want a vintage teapot made in the 1930's?? This is seriously the real deal when it comes to teapots! I hate to give it up, but I would much rather see someone else enjoy it more than I did. Get it now for only $15.99 plus shipping!!

Over the next few weeks more items will be placed up for sale on Etsy, so be sure to check it out! Almost everything is either vintage or handmade.

Think It, Wish It, Do It

Here is a little inspiration for everyone who has been feeling a little crafty lately. All of this was created by me over a period of a couple months. Granted I have been working on other projects at the same time... But they are finally finished!!

All of the wooden frames I used were from Michaels craft store. I literally spent $1 or less on each one! So total I only spent $14 for the unfinished frames.

Scrapbooking paper is an easy and cheap way to add a little pazazz to any room. I alway end up with coupons for Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Take full advantage of them! Im serious!! You can usually end up getting the paper even cheaper. With a little bit of sanding and spray painting (I think it is waaay faster and easier), you can create something similar.

If you are using fake flowers, make sure to glue them to the bottom ledge of the frame. The big flower ended up needing to be nailed to the wall.

After coupons, all of these cost me under $35!!! I love that it is so different than what you can buy at the store and can be personalized for whatever you like.

The Lovely Yellow Vinyl Chair: Day Three

After an amazing vacation, it's back to reality and everyday events. Before I left to go on vacation I had absolutely no time at all to work on any projects. I wanted to give a little update about the chair I've been working on.

I have used Behr interior wall paint in the color Breakfast Blend. Any size more than just the little sample size containers would be way too much, so I just went with the sample size. The entire chair took about 3 coats of paint and with a few extra spots getting more paint, it was done! This did take pretty much all afternoon to finish. Tomorrow I think I'll paint the metal pieces and re-attach the seat. Here are a few pictures.

This was during the first coat.

And the second....

This is the final coat! The picture turned out a little funny and the chair looks gold. I promise it isnt! The brown is a pretty chocolate brown with gold undertones. I absolutely love the color! I cant wait to finish it all and put it in my room!

Summer Heat

Instead of working on larger projects, I decided to take a break and stay out of the heat and humidity. So instead I've been working on the smaller projects that were piling up inside. Man is A/C refreshing. :) I have lots of fun things finished, in progress, or planning to get done soon! Here's a little sneak peak...

And this is only the beginning! More pictures will be posted throughout this week. Hopefully some items will be listed on the Etsy site in the next 2-3 weeks. I'll give more info and do some individual posts about different items soon as well.

The Lovely Yellow Vinyl Chair: Day Two

Whew! Time had completely slipped away from me!

I decided to take full advantage of the beautiful weather and ended up recovering the seat. The once faded and vinyl covered seat is now a cute burlap material with a gorgeous gold metallic flower pattern. I am absolutely in love with it! I do have o say that for my first time ever recovering a chair seat, I did pretty good! The seat is a really funky shape with little points that remind me of cat ears. These cat ears were definitely the hardest part to make sure the fabric was on correctly.

(Dont mind the mess either. No one ever said projects were always easy or clean!)

I just used a staple gun and i may have gone a little staple crazy... Oh well! No one will see it!

Once the fabric was all nice and secure I went ahead and trimmed the edges that were pretty long.

After a couple final tweaks and it was done!

Overall I am extremely happy with the way it turned out!!

The Lovely Yellow Vinyl Chair: Day One

spotted this chair at the local thrift store and could instantly see it painted and recovered into something more.... cute and modern. Don't get me wrong, the vinyl seat cover was great, but it was time for it to go.

Demo on this old chair started IMMEDIATELY. I took the seat off and used a screw driver to take the staples out that were holding the fabric and vinyl in place.

After a few hour break the big guns came out and the nasty faded yellow paint said bye-bye!

(Electric sanders are the most amazing inventions in the entire world by the way.)

With all the paint gone, hopefully we can get this baby painted and get the seat recovered by the end of the week!!

A Warm Welcome

Just to make this short and sweet, my name is Alex. I enjoy all things that have to do with crafts and DIY projects (I could spend hours on Pinterest looking at the latest trends and getting new ideas). I have always made things and used my imagination to create some pretty cool things. I finally came to the conclusion that I wanted to be able to showcase these things so everyone could see them and become inspired as well.

I don't always work alone, especially on larger projects. My mom, Kathleen is also an avid DIY inspirer herself! Together we are able to refinish pieces of furniture, make unique wall art, sew, and much more.

This isn't a blog that I intend to post onto everyday, but as much as possible. We are both extremely busy people and work on new projects as often as we can.

We are both always open to new ideas and would love any feedback, comments, or emails.
